In 1972, Willie Buchanon was called the best cornerback to enter the NFL in a generation. The 6’0”, 190-pound Buchanon became a Green Bay Packers starter as a rookie that season.
During the course of his Packers career, he intercepted 21 passes. The former San Diego State University star tied an NFL record in 1978 by picking off four passes in one game against the San Diego Chargers.
He broke his left leg twice while a Packer, missing portions of both the 1973 and ‘75 seasons. Buchanon was an All Pro choice in 1978.
