Russ Letlow will always have the distinction of being the first number one draft choice in Green Bay Packers’ history in 1936.

Considered the best defensive guard in Packers’ history, the 6’0”, 215-pound Letlow, who played at the University of San Francisco, started on the ‘39 and ‘44 title-winning Packers teams and played in the ‘36 and ‘38 championship games.

World War II interrupted Letlow’s career but he returned for one more season in 1946.
