Star Wisconsin Badgers end Milt Gantenbein became a member of the Green Bay Packers in 1931. He played on the 1931, ‘36 and ‘39 Packers championship teams.
In 1935, the 6’0”, 200-pound Gantenbein returned a fumble 38 yards to set up a touchdown in a key win over the Cardinals.
A valuable receiver and stalwart defensive end, Gantenbein was the Packers’ captain in 1937. After his playing career, Gantenbein became football coach at Manhattan College in New York City.
