Lynn Dickey threw for more than 21,300 yards and 133 touchdowns as a member of the Green Bay Packers.

Dickey, a star at Kansas State University, was the number three draft choice of the Houston Oilers in 1971, but languished there behind starter Dan Pastorini. Dickey missed the 1972 season with the Oilers due to a serious hip injury.

Acquired by the Packers in 1976, he broke his left leg on November 13, 1977, against the Rams and didn’t play again until October 28, 1979, against the Miami Dolphins. He sat out the 1978 season undergoing various medical procedures, including the insertion of a metal rod in his leg bone.

Dickey threw for 300 or more yards 15 times with the Packers. He led the team in passing eight times. In 1983, he passed for 4,458 yards and 32 touchdowns.

Early in 1983, he completed 73.9 percent of his passes for four touchdowns against the St. Louis Cardinals. One week later, he threw for 332 yards against the Dallas Cowboys.

The 6’4”, 210-pound Dickey was a Packer from 1976-’84.
