A first round draft pick for the Green Bay Packers in 1978, the ex-Michigan Academic All-American went on to anchor the Packers defense for 12 seasons.
As a disciplined player and team leader the talented linebacker overcame several key injuries during his successful Packers career.
His most productive season was in 1983 when he recorded 120 solo tackles, including four quarterback sacks, made five interceptions and knocked down seven other passes. He was voted the Packers Most Valuable Defensive Player for three consecutive seasons (1982, 1983, 1984) by Wisconsin and Upper Michigan sports media.
