Lee Remmel

Considered the foremost authority on Green Bay Packers history, Lee Remmel’s association with the team spans more than 60 years. Beginning as a sports reporter in the 1940s for the Green Bay Press Gazette, Remmel has worked with every head coach of the Green Bay Packers from Curly Lambeau to Mike McCarthy.
After a distinguished career as a sports writer, Remmel joined the Packers front office in 1974 as director of public relations. He continued to head the Packers PR department until Bob Harlan named him team historian in 2004. In honor of his long tenure and contributions to the Packers, the Lambeau Field press box was named ‘The Lee Remmel Press Box’ in August of 2003. Additionally, the Lee Remmel sports award banquet annually raises thousands of dollars for scholarship funds at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, St. Norbert’s College and area high schools.
