Bob Forte was an all-purpose offensive and defensive back for the Green Bay Packers.
The 6’0”, 195-pound Forte, a former star at the University of Arkansas, played many roles with the Packers. As a rookie, he was used as a part-time passer and full-time rusher and receiver. Forte excelled on defense where, in 1947, he led the Packers with eight interceptions. He intercepted 22 passes for the Packers.
He returned an interception 68 yards for a touchdown verses the Washington Redskins in 1946. Forte was with the Packers from 1946-50 and from 1952-53. His career was interrupted by Korean War service in 1951.
