Herb Adderley and Dave Robinson Book Signing

December 13, 2012 | Rich Fercy |

It was great seeing former Green Bay Packers Herb Adderley with Dave Robinson, along with Royce Boyles recently in the Green Bay area.

The trio was in the area doing book signings for their recent book, Lombardi’s Left Side.

Wisconsin grocery chain Festival Foods hosted many of the book signings.

Adderley, a Pro Football Hall of Famer, who joined the Packers in 1961, no longer flies. To make the trek back to the Wisconsin cold, he enlisted the help of a driver. While getting around takes longer today than when he was terrorizing opposing quarterbacks, he made certain to speak with everyone and sign the books.

Pride and tradition run deep in Packerland
Current Packers cornerback Sam Shields happened to be in the store during the book signing and inquired what was going on. One of Festival Food’s managers told him that Herb Adderley, who played cornerback for Vince Lombardi, was there signing books.

Then, with a pointed look at Shields said, “That is what you have to look forward to 50 years from now.”
