April 6, 1993 – The Green Bay Packers land the biggest name in free agency when defensive lineman Reggie White agrees to terms on a four-year, $17 million contract. White, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection with the Eagles, had visited the Browns, Falcons, Lions, Jets, Redskins and 49ers before returning to his Knoxville home to decide his future. “I think you’d have to go a long way back (in Packers history) to find a move that has the initial impact this one has,” Packers president Bob Harlan says.
