Packers Hire Former Badger QB as Assistant Coach
March 7, 2000 – Darrell Bevell, starting quarterback for the University of Wisconsin Badgers from 1992-95, is named an offensive assistant and quality control coach by the Green Bay Packers. One of Bevell’s duties with the Packers will be to assist offensive coordinator Tom Rossley in coaching the Packers quarterbacks. “I’m very excited about (working with Brett Favre).” Bevell says. “I’ve met him a couple of times being that I played at Wisconsin. We’ve already had a little bit of a relationship.” Prior to coming to the Packers, Bevell had been the wide receivers coach at the University of Connecticut.
