Feb. 12, 1958 – Floyd ‘Breezy’ Reid, a running back with the Packers from 1950 through 1956, is named backfield coach and scout by first-year head coach Ray (Scooter) McLean. Reid, the team’s leading ground gainer in 1953 and 1954, had been a part-time scout for the team in 1957. Reid’s duties will include scouting college games on Saturday and scouting the Packers’ upcoming opponent on Sunday. “I think it is important to have a member of the coaching staff observe our next opponent in action,” McLean says.
