A Rose Bowl Hero Comes to the Green Bay Packers
Jan. 22, 1953 – Al Carmichael, the USC running back who scored the only touchdown against Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl, is selected by the Packers in the first round of the college draft. In addition to Carmichael, Green Bay lands defensive tackle Bill Forester (third round), tackle Roger Zatkoff (fifth) and center Jim Ringo (seventh).
