The Packers Formally Announce the Signing of Paul Hornung

Jan. 9, 1957 – The Packers formally announce the signing of Paul Hornung, the bonus pick in the 1957 draft, to a contract. Hornung inked his deal sometime in December, but the team waited to make the announcement because Hornung was scheduled to play in the East-West Shrine game, a contest in which all players are presumed to be amateurs.
