Starters Rest; Packers Roll Lions
Dec. 30, 2007 – Packers coach Mike McCarthy deactivates a half dozen starters, but Green Bay experiences little trouble in casting aside the Lions 34-13 in Brett Favre’s final regular-season appearance in a green and gold uniform at Lambeau Field. With the Packers having already sewn up the NFC North Division title and the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, McCarthy rests Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, Donald Lee, Aaron Kampman, Charles Woodson and Ryan Pickett. After Green Bay jumps to a 21-3 lead early in the second quarter, McCarthy replaces Favre with Craig Nall. “I think (the 35-7 loss to Chicago a week earlier) punched us right in the mouth,” McCarthy says. “It was a good wake-up call. The most important thing about a wake-up call is how you respond to it. I really liked the way our football team responded.”
