Dec. 23, 1960 – With the Packers heading east for their first playoff game in 16 years, former players are unanimous in predicting a Green Bay win. “They really want this one,” Pete Tinsley, a guard who played on the Packers last championship team of 1944, says. “If the field is dry it will be a high-scoring game and the Packers will win by two touchdowns.” On Dec. 26, Green Bay and Philadelphia will meet to determine the NFL championship. “Any ‘off track’ will favor the Packers,” Curly Lambeau says in siding with his former team. “And because the Packers are tougher and I don’t think the Eagles can stop their running attack.” Sadly, Tinsley, Lambeau, Don Hutson, Ted Fritsch, Charley Brock and others are proven wrong after the Eagles edge the Packers 17-13 the day after Christmas.
