Auld Lang Syne: Reggie White Plays His Last Game at Lambeau Field
Dec. 20, 1998 – Reggie White takes a stroll – a victory walk – around Lambeau Field after having played his final game at Lambeau Field as a Packer. The mammoth defensive lineman is retiring from the game he dominated for more than a decade. “I think the emotions hit me after the game,” White says following Green Bay’s 30-22 win over the Tennessee Oilers. “You know, walking around the field, and just to see the way the people were expressing themselves to me. It makes it hard to leave the game.” White is credited with one tackle and one assist in his 94th regular-season game as a Packer. “It’s been a privilege to be around him, work with him, share ideas with him, argue with him,” coach Mike Holmgren says. “We all know he’s a special football player. That goes without saying.”
