Ahman Green

Dec. 14, 2003 – Two major records fall as the Packers blow past Drew Brees and the Chargers 38-21 at Qualcomm Stadium. Ahman Green leads all runners with 75 yards on 19 attempts, and on his fourth carry, Green surpasses Jim Taylor as the club’s all-time leading rusher. With a field goal and five PATs, Ryan Longwell pushes his career scoring total to 826 points, three more than the previous franchise record of 823 held by the legendary Don Hutson. “Putting points on the board is what he gets paid to do,” special teams coach John Bonamego says of Longwell. “I think he’s as good as anyone.” Green, who scores on a 4-yard run and a 1-yard pass from Brett Favre says: “It (the career rushing record) has lasted a long time from what I know. It is just something I take my hat off to my O-linemen, the guys that have been blocking for me the past four years.”
