Dec. 4, 1991 – Ron Wolf reports to work for his first day as the Green Bay Packers’ general manager. He spends part of his time answering questions regarding the status of coach Lindy Infante. “As I said earlier,” Wolf says in a statement he releases to the media, “I am here in the role of observer for the present. The team still has three games to play, which means that the evaluation process will be continuing for at least that long. Any decisions will be deferred until after that evaluation has been completed.” Earlier, Wolf denies a USA Today report that states he is interested in bringing in Pete Carroll, an assistant coach with the Jets, as a possible replacement for Infante.
