Nov. 23, 1980 – No one would mistake them for Jim Taylor and Paul Hornung, but Gerry Ellis and Eddie Lee Ivery accomplish something their predecessors never did: they both rush for more than 100 yards in the same game. Ivery comes up with 145 yards on 24 attempts and Ellis adds another 101 on 15 tries as Green Bay defeats the Minnesota Vikings 25-13 at Metropolitan Stadium.  “Our line executed as well as it ever has this year,” Ivery says. “We’ve executed before, but we just haven’t been consistent on offense. But today there were no turnovers and everyone on the line of scrimmage was doing a super job.” The victory by the Packers is their first in Minnesota since 1974. It also completes the first sweep of the Vikings since 1965. Ivery’s 38-yard TD run with 56 seconds remaining sews up the win.
