Anger Management: Heated Words Follow Packers Loss to Redskins
Nov. 3, 1974 – A 17-6 setback to the Washington Redskins sparks angry words in the Packers locker room in the aftermath of the 11-point loss. “Some people made some points, that’s all,” cornerback Willie Buchanon says. Linebacker Ted Hendricks says one player did most of the talking, but declined to name names. “I thought it was a pretty good talk. The team needed it to shake us up.” The loss, the team’s third in a row, drops Green Bay (3-5) three games behind the Central Division leading Vikings (6-2). Among the spectators in the stands at Lambeau Field is former quarterback Bart Starr who will be named the team’s head coach and general manager in December.
