Oct. 23, 1966 – The Packers carve out their largest margin of victory ever with a completely one-sided 56-3 drubbing of the expansion Atlanta Falcons at County Stadium in Milwaukee. Bart Starr throws for 217 yards on just eight completions, Herb Adderley and Doug Hart return interceptions for TDs and Donny Anderson races 77 yards to pay dirt on a punt return. “I don’t take any particular delight in beating any team by that score,” Packers coach Vince Lombardi says. The Falcons are coached Norb Hecker, Green Bay’s defensive backfield coach from 1959 through 1965. “It was a long day, a long day,” Hecker concedes.
