Oct. 13, 2002 – Brett Favre outplays Tom Brady and the Green Bay Packers leave Gillette Stadium with a stunning 28-10 victory over the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. Favre completes 17 of 27 passes for 147 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions (114.3 passer rating). Brady throws three interceptions while hitting on 24 of 44 throws for 183 yards and a TD (44.0). Green Bay shines despite missing key starters such as defensive lineman Joe Johnson (torn triceps), safety Darren Sharper (hamstring), cornerback Mike McKenzie (groin) and others. “It looked like an August preseason game,” Packers president Bob Harlan said of the raft of lesser known faces filling in for those injured. “I was scanning the roster to see who was playing myself.”
