Sept. 18, 1966 – Jim Taylor turns a short, fourth-down pass from Bart Starr into a game-winning score with two minutes, 34 seconds left as Green Bay squeezes past Cleveland 21-20 at Municipal Stadium in a season that doesn’t end until victory in Super Bowl I. Starr flips to Taylor at the eight, and the hard-charging fullback sidesteps Ross Fichtner at the seven, breaks Erich Barnes’ arm tackle at the five and doesn’t stop until defensive back Mike Howell upends him in the end zone. “Everybody was coming at me on an angle,” Taylor says. “We just stayed in there and never said die.” Taylor, who also scored on a run in the third quarter, leads all receivers with eight catches for 64 yards.
