Sept. 10, 1950 – The Green Bay Packers shade the Baltimore Colts 16-14 in the first annual Midwest Shrine Game at State Fair Park in Milwaukee. The preseason game, the last in Gene Ronzani’s first year as head coach, leaves the Packers with a 3-1 record. Ted Fritsch’s short field goal late in the game provides the winning margin. The game is sponsored by the Tripoli Shriners of Wisconsin for the benefit of the Shrine hospitals in Chicago and Minneapolis.
